Zoom Poker is Pokerstars version of Full Tilt’s popular ‘Rush Poker’. The game works in the same way as Rush Poker where you, as the player, are involved in a fast paced ring game where there is no waiting around after you have folded your hand.
Players are instantly moved to another table once they fold their hand so there is no waiting for players to finish the hand that they’re not involved in. Players don’t even have to wait until it’s their turn to fold. If you are dealt a bad hand you can use the ‘Fast Fold’ button to instantly be moved to another table with new players and new cards. However, if you would like to see the hand played out after you have folded, this is also an option by holding down the CTRL key when clicking on the fold button.
Zoom Poker is currently in the ‘beta testing’ stage but so far has received positive feedback and seems to be popular. Currently, the beta version of Zoom Poker only provides No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha ring games at a limited number of stakes. However, once any bugs have been resolved and the software is fully tested then Pokerstars will no doubt add a better table and stake selection.

Advantages of Zoom Poker :

- You can fit in up to 200+ hands/hour
- Competition is generally lower than standard ring games
- No need to study tables for table selection
- Earn more VPP’s at Pokerstars due to playing more hands
Disadvantages of Zoom Poker
- You’re not playing with the same players hand after hand. Therefore you don’t have the time to work out player styles and reads.
- Less time to make decisions
- Harder to bluff when your playing style is not known
At the present time there are no major strategies to playing Zoom Poker. As more players adapt and join in, there will no doubt be various strategies posted across the internet and in poker forums from players. However, at the moment Zoom Poker is a fast fun and exciting addition to regular online poker that is a breath of fresh air in the poker world.
